Our client is looking for an accomplished Technical Manager to take full ownership of the technical operations for a fleet of around 20 tanker vessels. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for vessel performance, technical team management, budget control, and ensuring all ships operate safely and efficiently in compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Technical Department, providing guidance to all Technical Superintendents.
- Oversee the technical management of 20 tankers, including maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking schedules.
- Manage technical budgets and monitor vessel condition and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, and global regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
- At least 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on tanker vessels.
- Minimum 3 years ashore in a senior technical leadership role, managing a fleet and supervising Technical Superintendents.
- Strong understanding of tanker operations, marine engineering, and international compliance standards.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in a high-performance ship management environment.
- Familiarity with modern fleet management systems and digital tools.
- Willingness to travel as required.
