We are partnering with a ship management company to recruit a Marine & HSSEQ Manager. This is a senior operational role responsible for driving safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operations across a diverse fleet. The position requires a leader who is comfortable being physically present at the frontline—regular vessel visits, direct engagement with Masters and crew, and day-to-day operational problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities Marine Operations (Hands-On Focus)
- Conduct onboard navigational and operational audits to ensure compliance, voyage planning standards, and internal navigation procedures.
- Review safety logs, passage plans, documentation, and operational readiness across various vessel types.
- Ensure vessel certification, reporting, and documentation remain audit-ready at all times.
- Work closely with Masters and Officers to provide guidance on navigation, stability, mooring, cargo operations, and emergency response.
- Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of ISM, ISPS, and MLC systems.
- Lead behaviour-based safety initiatives, drills, risk assessments, and safety campaigns.
- Conduct investigations, root cause analysis, and manage corrective action plans.
- Maintain ISO 9001/14001/45001 compliance and HSSEQ audit readiness.
- Oversee crew recruitment, certification, competency, and performance frameworks.
- Ensure crew matrices meet operational and regulatory standards.
- Lead crew budget governance, welfare, discipline, and succession planning.
- Manage fleet-wide training requirements for deck, engine, towage, safety, and soft skills.
- Oversee competency management systems, cadetships, and localisation pathways.
- Ensure STCW requirements, drills, and certification renewals are fully maintained.
- Oversee fleet systems such as TM Master/AMOS, HSSEQ platforms, and voyage/crew reporting tools.
- Lead the digitalisation of HSSEQ, Marine, and Crewing processes and data integrity.
- Ensure cybersecurity and ship–shore connectivity compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Technical, Operations, HR, and Crewing teams.
- Standardise marine & HSSEQ practices across multiple business units.
- Prepare monthly operational and HSSEQ reports for senior leadership.
- Class 1 Master Mariner (Foreign-Going) or equivalent senior marine qualification.
- ISM/ISPS/MLC Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- NEBOSH/OSHA certification advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years in Marine Operations, HSSEQ, or Marine Superintendent roles.
- Experience with mixed fleets such as tugs, barges,coastal vessels.
- Strong background in vessel audits, investigations, and frontline marine operations.
- Familiarity with fleet management systems (TM Master/AMOS or similar).
- Highly hands-on with a strong presence onboard and ashore.
- Strong leadership and ability to influence crew and operational teams.
- Detail-oriented, safety-first mindset.
- Practical problem-solver able to manage real-time operational challenges.
