The Opportunity:
In this role, you’ll lead both the strategic and day-to-day execution of marine fuel and lubricant procurement for our client, a well respected and growing vessel owner.

You’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate complex agreements, monitor global energy markets, and integrate alternative fuels into procurement plans, while ensuring flawless operational delivery.

This is more than day to day procurement. It’s about building long-term value, managing risk, and supporting a business committed to operational excellence and sustainability.
  
What You’ll Be Doing:

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute global fuel procurement strategies across major bunker hubs
  • Manage and optimize the supplier portfolio, driving performance and accountability
  • Negotiate multi-year agreements covering premiums, indices, delivery terms, and sustainability clauses
  • Integrate alternative fuels into long-term supply strategies aligned to emissions targets
  • Track and deliver measurable KPIs including cost savings, compliance, and sustainability milestones
Operational Excellence
  • Execute daily fuel purchases and convert demand forecasts into purchase orders
  • Coordinate barge scheduling and manage uplift windows
  • Monitor global fuel markets to recommend timing and volume adjustments
  • Ensure full compliance with maritime and emissions regulations
  • Maintain meticulous documentation including BDNs, compliance records, and audit files
Technical & Marine Procurement
  • Lead procurement of marine consumables and operational supplies including lubricants, chemicals, spares, safety equipment, and technical stores
  • Collaborate with Marine Operations, Technical, and Supply Chain teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory
  • Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining industry-leading compliance standards
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business or related discipline
  • Experience in fuel procurement, energy trading, or marine fuels purchasing
  • Vessel or marine industry experience highly desirable
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Experience with bunker operations tools
  • Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally with Marine Ops, Legal, Finance and Scheduling teams
