Faststream are partnering with a global OEM who are looking to hire an experienced and ambitious Marine Manager, they will lead and grow the UK and Ireland marine propulsion sector. This is a leadership role for a well-established global engineering solutions provider, where you’ll drive sales, nurture key client relationships, and identify new market opportunities, all while shaping the future of marine solutions.
This position can be remote, based in the UK. It will require attending relevant industry events, customer visits and office attendance for key dates.
The Role
As Marine Manager, you will take ownership of the UK/IE marine market for both service and new product business. You will:
- Lead commercial negotiations and close high-value contracts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the marine industry.
- Monitor market trends and develop strategies for new products, services, and applications.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and corrective action plans to ensure business targets are met.
- Oversee field service teams, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with HSE and project requirements.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking forums.
- Drive growth in service and product sales across the UK and Ireland.
- Maintain a unified approach to global clients while tailoring strategies to local markets.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including non-core products and services.
- Manage CRM data and sales pipelines to ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate across internal teams—sales, engineering, projects, spares, and service—to deliver results.
- Liaise with finance and project management on contracts, overdues, and large-scale service agreements.
Requirements
- Strong experience in a Commercial role, with experience in the marine industry and a strong understanding of both UK and international markets
- Engineering/ Naval Architecture related degree or higher preferred.
- Background in maritime propulsion system sales preferred.
- Proven track record in sales of capital equipment and long-term service agreements.
- Experience managing complex contracts, long sales cycles, and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
- Technical expertise in high-value marine equipment and industry regulations/classification standards.
- Well-established network of marine industry contacts and decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
