This opportunity is ideally suited to a Marine Engineer transitioning ashore or a Naval Architect at an early stage of their career who is looking for structured exposure across the full scope of technical ship management. The role is designed as a development position, offering hands-on involvement and mentorship with a clear pathway toward progression into a full Technical Superintendent role.
The role as part of the technical department, you will support the day-to-day technical management of the tanker fleet while gaining practical experience across a wide range of activities, including:
- Assisting with vessel follow-up and performance monitoring
- Supporting planned maintenance systems and technical reporting
- Involvement in class, flag, and customer compliance activities
- Assisting with dry-docking preparation and execution
- Supporting daily technical operations and troubleshooting
- Participating in technical projects and improvement initiatives across the fleet
About You To be considered, you are likely to have:
- A formal background as a Marine Engineer, with seagoing experience to at least Second Engineer on tankers
or a Naval Architect holding a Master’s degree (newly graduated candidates considered) - Basic understanding of project management principles
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- A collaborative, proactive approach with strong communication skills
- A clear desire to learn, take responsibility, and progress into a Technical Superintendent role
- An existing EU work permit
