Rotation: 4 months on site, 1 month remote, 1 month off
About the Role
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for defining and executing the fleet maintenance and operations strategy to ensure optimal seaworthiness, compliance with international standards, and cost efficiency. This is a senior technical leadership role requiring strong expertise in managing technical teams, overseeing planned maintenance systems, and ensuring vessels meet class and charterer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement fleet maintenance, renewal, and acquisition strategies
- Set KPIs and monitor budgets for technical management vendors
- Lead day-to-day technical operations and act as the primary point of contact for vessel technical matters
- Ensure planned maintenance activities and dry dock operations are executed effectively
- Oversee usage and data control of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS)
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement process improvements
- Supervise technical personnel and guide port engineers to ensure 100% vessel availability
- Carry out in-house inspections across the fleet and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and analyze operational reports
- Ensure compliance with company and international safety, health, and environmental standards
- Manage inventory of critical spares and ensure timely procurement
- 10–15 years’ experience as a Marine Engineer, with prior roles as Port Engineer or Technical Superintendent
- Offshore experience strongly preferred
- Technical Superintendency license required; valid COC is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of planned maintenance systems and dry dock management
