The successful candidate will oversee marine assets(such as vessels and containers) to maximise profitability and ensure compliance with operational standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Capacity Management: Forecast and manage container supply to prevent bottlenecks, develop contingency plans, and align capacity with demand.
- Stowage Planning: Create detailed stowage plans, balancing profitability with operational requirements, and support the bookings team with slot loss and pricing for out-of-gauge cargo.
- Scheduling & Port Supervision: Maintain accurate schedules and manage port operations, including on-call duty to resolve issues and provide guidance during off-hours.
- Operational Reporting: Monitor vessel activities, report anomalies, and investigate incidents related to cargo damage, ensuring thorough documentation and recovery where appropriate.
- Experience: Background in shipping operations, vessel scheduling and capacity management would be an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data interpretation abilities, advanced Excel skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Communication: Clear and concise communicator who can coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
