Our client, a well-established, innovative organization in the maritime technology sector, is currently seeking a Vessel Operations Manager.
This role is ideally suited for licensed officers or maritime graduates with some seagoing experience ready to apply their operational insight in a shoreside environment, with opportunities for professional development and long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate vessel movements in accordance with international, national, and organizational regulations and procedures
- Act as the primary point of contact for vessel Masters, supporting day-to-day operational requirements
- Oversee port agent nominations, disbursement account management, and reconciliation of agent billing
- Process accounts receivable/payable
- Collaborate with Masters and departments across the organization to support vessel readiness, budgeting, scheduling, and standardization initiatives
- Contribute to long-term operational planning and continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with reporting, documentation, and the implementation of operational directives and purchasing protocols
- Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. Maritime Academy (required)
- Minimum 2 years’ shipboard experience as a licensed officer (preferred)
- Strong understanding of maritime operations, compliance, and logistics
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and vessel management systems is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
