Faststream is exclusively supporting a large European work boat company who operate within offshore and renewable wind sector. Due to continued expansion, they have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join them in either their Dutch or UK based office.  
Reporting into the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will provide technical support to the assigned vessels by identifying  technical issues, providing coaching to crew members regarding maintenance as well as monitoring budgets for projects and maintenance. You will work with the technical manager to supervise and instruct the shore side technical engineers and mechanics, including carrying out site and vessel visits, coordinating vessel inspections, repairs and dry docks, amongst other duties.
The ideal candidate for this role will have: -
  • Hands on technical management experience of smaller boats is essential
  • Technical / Engineering experience on vessels such as Hi speed craft, Crew Transfer vessels, lifeboats, pilot boats, high speed ferries, tugs, work boats or vessels that come into port regularly will also be considered
  • Experience working in a hands-on role in a shipyard / dock, or for an engine supplier is desirable
  • Knowledge of small ship technology
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
