Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical upkeep, seaworthiness and compliance of assigned vessels in line with class, flag, PSC, oil major and regional regulatory requirements.
- Manage and implement the planned maintenance programme, ensuring timely execution and adherence to standards.
- Review, approve and monitor repair scopes, including issuing purchase/work orders and tracking completion.
- Plan dry-dockings and major repairs—prepare specifications, supervise progress and ensure quality delivery.
- Control and optimise vessel budgets while maintaining operational performance expected by the owners.
- Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and ensure timely close-outs.
- Attend inspections from class, flag, PSC, underwriters and oil majors; ensure vessels remain inspection-ready at all times.
- Liaise with terminals, charterers, agents, operators and relevant authorities on technical matters.
- Support the crewing team with technical guidance and coordination where required.
- Chief Engineer (Class 1 COC) with sailing experience on tankers.
- Shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent within the tanker segment.
- Willingness to travel for vessel-related matters when required.
- Strong communication skills with solid command of English, both written and spoken.
- Well-versed with oil major vetting processes and inspection frameworks.
