Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of bulk carriers.
- Plan and coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry-dockings.
- Manage vessel budgets and control maintenance expenses.
- Ensure that all vessels comply with class and statutory requirements.
- Work closely with vessel crews and ensure that all safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize vessel performance.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.
- Monitor vessel performance and provide technical support to vessel crews as required.
Qualifications:
- Sailed to the rank of 2nd or Chief Engineer.
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical superintendent or similar role within the shipping industry, with a focus on bulk carriers.
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, including class and statutory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software.
