I am working with an established Global Yacht Management Company to appoint an exciting new position of Superyacht Technical Superintendent to join the team in the Fort Lauderdale office. 

This is an office-based role, and you must have the right to live and work in the USA, ONLY applicants that possess either a valid Green Card or a US Passport will progress through the selection process. The Technical Superintendent of a Yacht Management company is an exciting role and is responsible for providing general operational support for the technical aspects of a designated fleet of yachts which includes overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of the company's fleet of yachts. This individual will work closely with the yacht owners, captains, and crew to ensure that all yachts are in good working order and meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.

In addition you will be expected to provide support to other internal departments on technical matters as well as identify and promote technical commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules for the yachts in the fleet
  • Oversee all maintenance and repair work on the yachts, including coordinating with contractors and suppliers as needed
  • Ensure that all yachts are in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards
  • Work with yacht owners, captains, and crew to identify and address any issues or concerns with the yachts
  • Monitor the performance and efficiency of the yachts and make recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance, repair, and operational activities on the yachts
  • Assist with the planning and execution of yacht deliveries and relocations as needed
For each vessel of the fleet:
  • Find the list of equipment (through the building shipyard, survey, crew etc: research and following up).
  • Find all the digital technical manuals for each of these pieces of equipment (lots of research and following up)
  • Populate the scheduled maintenance needed for each piece of equipment into our Planned Maintenance Software.
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in yacht maintenance and repair
  • Strong technical knowledge of yacht systems and operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office and yacht management software
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken at a high professional level
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Ability to prioritize and complete time sensitive tasks
  • A high degree of attention to detail, capable of checking/ recording information accurately
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and planned Maintenance Systems
  • Self-motivated, able to solve problems and manage their own time
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality
  • Flexibility to travel frequently
 Desirable but not essential:
  • Qualification in auditing prosses and standards i.e. ISM Lead Auditor
  • Sailed up to Chief Engineer onboard superyachts for a min 5 years
