Carnival Shipbuilding are looking to hire an established Steel & Paint Inspector to open and be part of the site team in Tulcea, Romania. 

This is a rare and prestigious opportunity with Carnival, the world's leading cruise line, to be part of the shipyard team building one of the world's largest cruise ships. You'll be at the heart of the action, conducting inspections across Steel and Paint, for this first in class build.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience and qualifications focused on structural steel production, fabrication and inspection.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, grinding, surface and steel preparation, fairing, non-destructive testing (NDT) such as X-ray and ultrasound verification, dimensional verification, hull markings, tanks and structural integrity. 
  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline, welding technology and NDT inspections. 
  • Basic understanding of paint application and inspection, such as preparation work for steel - no qualification required. 
  • Specialist vessel experience: cruise, offshore, LNG.
  • Proven experience in a newbuilding site environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of classification society standards. 
  • Former site experience in Tulcea preferred.
