Site Manager – Marseille (Marine Refit Projects)
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead and coordinate refit projects at a busy shipyard in Marseille, focusing on commercial vessels, passenger ships, and superyachts. This is a hands-on role for a proactive leader with strong refit and maintenance experience, able to oversee complex operations and ensure high standards of quality, timing, cost control, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, supervise, and execute refit activities, including sandblasting, painting, waterjetting, surface treatment, insulation, and other technical finishes on board vessels and in shipyard areas.
  • Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical standards and contractual requirements.
  • Manage work schedules in close collaboration with the shipyard and shipowners, monitoring progress, productivity, and operational criticalities.
  • Ensure implementation of HSE procedures and adherence to French safety and environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with inspectors, classification societies, and suppliers of coating and insulation materials.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, cost accounting, and quality documentation.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in marine refit and maintenance projects within commercial, passenger, or superyacht sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of marine operations, shipyard processes, and project coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multicultural teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to operational challenges.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is highly desirable.
