An exciting position has become available for a solicitor seeking to develop their career within a specialist marine and shipping disputes team. This is the perfect role for someone with solid grounding in commercial litigation who wants to specialise further in maritime work and be mentored towards a senior level.

The Role You’ll support a broad range of matters including:
  • Cargo claims (damage, shortage, contamination)
  • Charterparty disputes
  • Dry shipping issues
  • FD&D and P&I-related matters
  • Arbitration and commercial litigation support
  • Drafting advice, legal research, case management
You’ll be working closely with senior lawyers and clients from day one, gaining hands on exposure and the tools to quickly progress.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
  • Minimum 2 years PQE in shipping or commercial litigation
  • Strong foundation in dispute resolution and arbitration
  • Excellent communication
  • Client relationship skills and business development skills
  • Driven, proactive, and eager to grow
  • Able to work autonomously and take initiative
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  • A background involving shipping.
Location: Newcastle (preferred) or Plymouth | 4 days office / 1 day remote
Salary: £60,000–£65,000 (depending on experience)
PQE: 2+ years
