Leading modern port in the South of the UK looking to hire an SMS Manager to be responsible for the day to day management of the Safety Management System, ensuring it remains compliant with PMSC (Port Marine Safety Code). You will also be on call on a rotation for ad hoc pilotage work when required.
The ideal candidate will hold a Chief Mate Unlimited Certificate of Competency and have sailing experience in rank as Chief Mate on deep sea vessels. Shore based experience within another port or for a ship operator is desirable but not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced shore based professional looking to gain experience in the Port sector, or a Deck Officer looking to transition into their first job ashore.
