This organisation plays a critical role in saving lives at sea and relies on robust, innovative and reliable engineering solutions to ensure its fleet and supporting infrastructure are always mission-ready. They are now seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering projects across the full asset lifecycle, from concept and design through to build, refit, modification and in-service support.
The Role -
As Project Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of engineering projects that directly contribute to operational capability and safety. You will take ownership of smaller engineering projects and defined work packages within larger programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver engineering projects or work packages within larger programmes, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, timelines and technical standards
- Support senior engineers and project leads on complex projects, taking ownership of allocated sub-tasks
- Investigate and resolve straightforward engineering issues, escalating more complex matters where required
- Produce accurate technical documentation, drawings and reports with appropriate version control and traceability
- Apply relevant engineering procedures, safety standards and governance requirements across all tasks
- Ensure effective integration of project activities with refit, production and maintenance schedules
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
You will ideally have:
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or Systems Engineering
- Experience delivering engineering projects or technical work packages
- Strong technical documentation and reporting capability
- An ability to troubleshoot engineering challenges in operational environments
- Good stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience within marine, defence, heavy engineering, manufacturing or asset-intensive sectors (desirable)
