Salary: £35,000 per annum (including car allowance) + Overtime + additional perks

We’re working with a busy, fast growing shipping agency in the South East, with new projects, increased vessel traffic and exciting work on the Thames and South Coast. The office is energetic and supportive and are looking for someone with some agency experience to help the more junior team. If you have a few years experience + please do get in touch and you can help the team to maintain high standards and keep operations running smoothly.
The Role:
We’re looking for a proactive Ships Agent to join the team. You’ll be responsible for managing tanker and general vessel operations, liaising with port authorities and ensuring all schedules and compliance requirements are met. This is a hands on role that requires flexibility, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
You Will:
- Manage ships’ arrivals and departures along the Thames and South Coast.
- Liaise with pilots, port authorities and vessel crews.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and documentation.
- Take part in a rota for out-of-hours/weekend coverage.
- Support and guide junior team members.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a ship agent (Even more experience than this is preferred 5 years + and salary will reflect this).
- Thames and/or tanker experience highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence required, own car.
- Able to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Strong communication skills, organised, and detail-oriented.
