As part of continued business expansion, we are seeking a 0-2 PQE Shipping Litigation Lawyer to join the Hong Kong team.
The practice handles a substantial volume of shipping dispute matters annually, including charterparty (CP) disputes, bills of lading (BL) claims, cargo claims, demurrage disputes, and related maritime arbitration and litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to gain broad, hands-on exposure within a busy and growing shipping disputes practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on and handling shipping and marine insurance-related disputes
- Managing charterparty, bills of lading, cargo, and demurrage claims
- Assisting in arbitration and court proceedings
- Drafting pleadings, submissions, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence
- Liaising with shipowners, charterers, insurers, P&I Clubs, experts, and external counsel
- 0-2 years' PQE
- UK or Hong Kong qualified
- Training gained at a shipping law firm or strong experience in shipping disputes
- Solid drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of matters in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is essential
