Are you looking to take your service engineering skills to the next level? Our Client is seeking a technically proficient and service-oriented Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in marine automation systems, a proactive work ethic, and a professional manner. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of onboard equipment, often under irregular hours. A strong commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement is essential.
  
Role:
  • Lead technical operations onboard as the primary engineer-in-charge
  • Conduct training sessions for internal engineers and external service agents
  • Provide technical and administrative support to office operations
  
Responsibilities:
  • Perform onboard maintenance, inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and system modifications
  • Plan and manage field service schedules and activities
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently
  • Supervise repairs and implement technical upgrades
  • Install new systems and technologies as required
  • Ensure proper upkeep and preventive maintenance of onboard equipment
  • Direct and oversee technicians and engineers during service operations
  • Deliver technical remote support to both customers and internal peers as needed
  • Prepare detailed service reports covering job progress, travel/work hours, technical findings, and recommendations
  • Communicate job status and updates to supervisors and relevant stakeholders
  • Deliver technical support and training to customers, agents, and internal teams
  • Coordinate and dispatch necessary parts, drawings, and documentation to service agents
  • Maintain tools in good condition for safety and high-quality
  • Develop manuals and support documents to share technical insights and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Collect and relay customer feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement
  • Review service reports and maintenance records to support sales and business development
  • Fulfill all responsibilities typically assigned to Technicians
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with vessel main engine automation systems or equivalent marine control systems
