Faststream Recruitment are working with a highly respected maritime organisation operating at the heart of the UK’s marine and lifesaving sector. They are seeking an Electrical / Systems Engineer to support the through-life design, management and technical integrity of critical marine assets and associated equipment.

This is a shore-based engineering role offering excellent long-term stability, flexible hybrid working, and the opportunity to work on technically complex systems that operate in some of the world’s most demanding marine environments.

The Role You will play a key part in supporting the safe, effective and value-driven management of marine assets across their full operational lifecycle. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you’ll contribute to design development, configuration control, technical investigations and continuous improvement of vessel systems and equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Design and development of marine electrical and systems solutions
  • Managing configuration change and technical documentation across asset lifecycles
  • Ensuring engineering designs align with safety, environmental and engineering standards
  • Acting as an engineering signatory within delegated authority
  • Supporting project managers to deliver work to agreed cost and timescales
  • Providing technical support to coastal teams, staff and volunteers
  • Liaising with boatyards, suppliers, contractors and surveyors
  • Undertaking investigations, trials, fault-finding and data analysis on vessels and equipment
  • Supporting R&D and system improvement initiatives
Desirable Experience:
  • Background in electrical, electronic, systems or marine engineering
  • Experience working in an engineering design or asset support environment
  • Marine design experience (vessels, systems, or equipment)
  • Ability to manage technical documentation and configuration control
  • Confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers and contractors
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required
  • Full UK Working Rights
Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification within that is within the Electrical Engineering space or transferable to this area.
