This is a senior, high-impact position within the marine assurance function, suited to an experienced tanker professional with a strong track record in OCIMF SIRE and RightShip inspections. The role offers a blend of international exposure and shore-based responsibility, with regular travel to vessels to support inspection readiness and performance.
The Role You will take ownership of the company’s vetting performance across the fleet, working closely with ship and shore teams to ensure vessels consistently meet and exceed charterer and vetting expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-vetting assessments and supporting vessels in preparation for SIRE and RightShip inspections
- Attending inspections worldwide and providing hands-on support where required
- Monitoring inspection outcomes, trends, and corrective actions
- Working closely with Marine and HSSEQ teams to align vetting, marine, and audit activities
- Undertaking vessel visits, marine inspections, and internal audits as required
- Managing day-to-day vetting-related activities from the Limassol office
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Senior Vetting Superintendent or Marine Superintendent position
- At least 2 years’ seagoing experience in a senior rank onboard tankers
- Demonstrable success managing OCIMF SIRE and RightShip inspections
- Strong knowledge of vetting processes, charterer expectations, and industry best practice
- An auditing qualification (advantageous but not essential)
- Working familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- A high level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and support both ship and shore teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative
