A well-established international ship management organisation is seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent (Oil & Chemical Tankers) to join its shore-based team in Busan.

This role suits a senior tanker professional transitioning ashore or an existing Marine Superintendent with strong oil and chemical tanker exposure.
 
Important:
This position is open to Korean nationals / Korean residents only.
No visa sponsorship is available.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide marine operational support to Masters and vessels, ensuring safe and compliant operations across an oil & chemical tanker fleet
  • Ensure full implementation and continuous improvement of the Company Management System
  • Prepare vessels for PSC, vetting (OCIMF / SIRE), and third-party inspections; attend inspections where required
  • Conduct marine visits, internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Promote a strong safety, quality, environmental awareness, and energy-efficiency culture
  • Support Masters in navigation standards, bridge procedures, and tanker cargo operations
  • Monitor cargo operations planning, execution, and compliance with charterer and terminal requirements
  • Identify crew training needs and support competency development
  • Liaise with vetting teams, terminals, and charterers, ensuring timely closure of observations and reports
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ seagoing experience in a command position (Master Mariner)
  • Relevant shore experience as marine superintendent managing tankers
  • Proven experience on oil and/or chemical tankers
  • Strong working knowledge of international maritime regulations and tanker industry standards
  • Experience in vetting inspections (SIRE), marine inspections, internal auditing, risk management, and incident investigation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Korean language capability required
  • Must be based in South Korea or eligible to work in South Korea without sponsorship
