The candidate for this role must have cruise experience in a training role either gained onboard or ashore.
This role is office based with around 20% travel - relocation support is available for candidates not local.
The Senior Training Manager shall have the following qualifications:
- Seagoing experience in a management position, or a university degree and experience in the maritime industry of not less than five years;
 - Experience in cruise and or passenger vessel training, emergency procedures, management and design.
 - A good command of the English language;
 - Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
 - Conversant with applicable international and national rules and regulations;
 - Sufficient experience and knowledge in course designing;
 - Qualified Trainer as per IMO model course 6.09.
 
Primary tasks
- Planning, leading, organizing and controlling the Training Department;
 - Evaluating, planning and executing training projects;
 - Ensuring that in-house courses are continuously analysed and updated in line with industry requirements and international regulations.
 - Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
 - Overseeing and managing training budgets;
 - Maintaining regular contact with appropriate training facilities and evaluating training providers;
 - Ensuring that training centres and courses are being evaluated;
 - Development of muster list for cruise vessels
 - Development of safety management software, competency matrix and contingency manual for cruise vessels
 - As required deliver on board training for cruise vessel clients
