Faststream Recruitment is working with a world-leading maritime organisation undergoing a major phase of engineering transformation. We are seeking a Lead Project Engineer to drive delivery across a portfolio of innovative, safety-critical vessel and equipment projects.
This role is ideal for a forward-thinking engineer who enjoys technical ownership, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is motivated by seeing real-world impact on high-performance marine assets.
The Opportunity
You’ll take design authority across multiple engineering projects, making key technical decisions and leading workstreams from concept through to integration, modification, and in-service support. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, suppliers, shipyards, and internal engineering specialists to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You’ll work across some of the most exciting programmes in the sector, including:
- A brand-new class of vessel– the first in over 10 years
- Major fleet upgrades across electrical and software upgrades
- New E-Class builds with updated design features
- Development of inversion-proofed outboard engines
- New hovercraft prototypes and follow-on builds
- Other projects behind the scenes
- Strong engineering background (mechanical, naval architecture, structural, or similar)
- Chartered Engineer preferred
- Experience delivering multiple engineering projects at pace
- Confident making technical decisions with design authority
- Someone who challenges convention and embraces new ways of working
- Hybrid working flexibility, plus occasional travel to suppliers and stations
