A Global Leader within the shipping and logistics industry is seeking an established, solutions orientated Procurement professional who is never satisfied with being mediocre for an exciting start-up type role, within an established business. 

The role of Manager, Sea Freight Procurement operates across EMEA within the Supply Chain Solutions team.

What to expect from the role:
  • Act as a pivotal intermediary between clients and shipowners/carriers, for the movement of complex, oversized and heavy breakbulk cargo.
  • Drive supplier sourcing, procurement and solution development, supporting business growth, operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Expand sea freight capabilities for breakbulk, project and heavy-lift cargo across EMEA.
  • Achieve targeted cost savings, supplier performance metrics and customer satisfaction scores through effective procurement, supplier management and solution delivery.
  • Plan and optimise transport routes, considering operational factors, port capabilities and potential transit challenges unique to heavy lift and project cargo.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time.

  • Proven experience, with a strong network of contacts. 
  • Proven experience in freight forwarding with a focus on breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo.
  • Strong understanding of different types of heavy lift equipment and vessels.
  • Technical knowledge of heavy lift operations, including rigging, jacking, cargo securing and the principles of gravity, dimensions and weight distribution.
  • Meticulous planning, a deep understanding of maritime regulations and specialised equipment to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage complex relationships.
  • Experience navigating within a global matrix organisation. 
  • Business-fluent in English.
