A Global Leader within the shipping and logistics industry is seeking an entrepreneurial Procurement professional to drive operational excellence, challenging the status quo and supporting to shape a new business unit.  

The role of Manager, Inland Transportation Procurement operates across EMEA within the Supply Chain Solutions team.

What to expect from the role:
  • Play a pivotal role in growing our inland transportation capabilities for breakbulk, project, and heavy-lift cargo across EMEA.
  • Take charge of inland transportation suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective capacity.
  • Develop tailored solutions for spot and project cargo, aligning supplier requirements with our sales pipeline and business needs.
  • Support local and regional Customer Growth teams, participate in customer meetings and contribute to RFQ processes.
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to deliver inland transportation solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Build and maintain a robust, responsive supplier base and serve as the primary liaison for all sourcing matters.
  • Focus on delivering safe, dependable and cost-effective transport solutions that maximise customer satisfaction and create value for our clients and company.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time. 

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience, with a strong network of contacts. 
  • Proven experience in procurement, supplier management or logistics within the transportation sector.
  • Strong understanding of different types of heavy lift equipment and trucks and cranes utilise for transporting those inland. 
  • Meticulous planning, a deep understanding of heavy-lift and project cargo inland operations to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage complex relationships.
  • Experience navigating within a global matrix organisation. 
  • Business-fluent in English.
