Faststream is proud to partner with the Virgin Islands Shipping & Maritime Authority (VISMA) to recruit an outstanding Registrar of Shipping for their London office. The successful candidate will be responsible not only for managing the technical and compliance aspects of vessel registration but also for actively promoting the Virgin Islands ship registry to international clients, shipowners, brokers, and industry stakeholders, thus driving business growth and international visibility. This is a high-profile, strategic role focused on establishing VISMA’s presence in the UK.


Key Responsibilities
  • Expand the global footprint of the Virgin Islands’ Ship Registry.
  • Promote VISMA as a competitive and reputable registry for quality shipowners.
  • Build commercial relationships that directly convert into registrations.
  • Manage the registry’s day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations.
  • Oversee vessel data management and maintain accurate registration records.
  • Represent VISMA at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to deliver operational excellence.
  • Monitor global industry trends and proactively update registration policies to remain competitive.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years’ experience in ship registry, maritime operations, or commercial shipping.
  • Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and global registration processes.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management and business development.
  • Leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in CRM systems, digital marketing, and webinars.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
