Job Description

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role combining technical excellence, expert witness work, business development, and team growth. You will deliver specialist marine engineering services to a global client base including insurers (P&I and H&M), brokers, lawyers, and shipowners, while strengthening market presence and developing the wider engineering team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality expert reports for arbitration and court proceedings
  • Conduct hull & machinery damage surveys worldwide
  • Investigate fuel quality and machinery-related failures
  • Provide loss prevention advice to maritime stakeholders
  • Lead business development and client relationship management
  • Mentor and develop the marine engineering team
  • Support multidisciplinary teams including naval architects and master mariners
Requirements
  • STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited (III/2) Certificate of Competency
  • Significant seagoing experience, including sailing as Chief Engineer
  • Strong technical expertise in marine engineering and machinery systems
  • Experience in marine consultancy and expert witness work highly desirable
  • Business development and client-facing experience advantageous
  • Prior shore-based superintendent experience preferred
  • Physically capable of conducting shipyard and onboard inspections worldwide
