Faststream is looking for Senior/Naval Architects with Commercial Vessel experience to join our clients expanding team in Southampton or Bristol area.

My client is a beacon of maritime excellence and stands tall as a multidisciplinary engineering, science, and technology consultancy. With a rich heritage in the Maritime industry. They have been at the forefront of innovation, particularly in the defence, security, and environment sectors.
The role
- Contribute to a diverse range of projects including Crew Transfer Vessels, Service Operations Vessels, ferries, patrol boats, and workboats.
- Engage in concept design, tender bids, and detailed naval architecture through various project phases.
- Utilise model test data and CFD methods to determine optimal propulsion systems.
- Collaborate on 3D renderings, seakeeping assessments, stability assessments, and structural arrangements.
The Person
- Practical experience with vessel construction and familiarity with Classification Society rules.
- Experience with various vessel types, including high-speed catamarans, monohulls, and more.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD) and other specialist software.
- Have a Bachelors or Masters level degree in Naval Architecture
- Right to work and live in the UK and be able to obtain SC level clearance.
