International Marine Assurance Services (IMAS), a specialist division within Northern Marine Group provides independent marine quality assurance (MQA) services such as vessel inspections, audits, vetting support and risk assessments to ship owners, operators and energy firms worldwide.
IMAS is seeking to strengthen its team with a motivated and ambitious MQA Specialist at its Clydebank office.

Location: Clydebank, Glasgow
Overview:
This newly created role is set to make a real impact in Marine Quality Assurance. You’ll work closely with the UK MQA Manager and global colleagues situated in India to support a growing portfolio of clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for vessel vetting, certification screening, and client compatibility checks, ensuring the highest safety and compliance standard across the industry.

Responsibilities:
Vet and approve vessels and terminals for oil, gas and chemical operations.
Review audits, incidents and risk assessments to ensure compliance and safety standards.
Support client inspections, audits, and HSSE performance monitoring.
Conduct TMSA audits and follow up on corrective actions.
Maintain assurance data and provide technical advice to clients and operators.
Drive process improvements and support management reporting.
Requirements:
Class 1 or 2 OOW deck or engine CoC or Marine degree-based qualification.
Surveyor, Auditor, Inspector, Barge Master, HSEQ/Marine Superintendent experience also considered in conjunction with seafaring experience.
We would consider a Class 3 OOW deck as a Marine Quality Assurance Specialist Assistant, given the right motivations and capacity to learn.
Excellent communicator (both verbally and written) at all levels within the organisation.
Ability to engage successfully with all levels of management in third party companies within the marine industry.
Be able to lead/contribute to solving demanding operational problems.
Recognise the commercial sensitivity of MQA information and accordingly exercise sound business integrity and practices.
Practice the highest levels of ethical business behaviour.

This role is contracted to the Clydebank office.
The business operates a 5 day per week in office presence, with the ability to utilise hybrid working, after probation period, up to twice a week, in line with business needs.
