Marine Surveyor – Montreal, Quebec

Are you an experienced marine engineer ready to take on a role where your technical expertise truly matters?

Do you have a background as a Classification Society surveyor and a solid understanding of international regulations?

A world-leading Classification Society, based in Montreal, is seeking skilled marine engineers to join their Marine Surveyor team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with shipbuilders, owners, and operators to ensure vessels and equipment meet Class, statutory, and international requirements.

In this role, you will survey ships under construction and in service, evaluate hulls, machinery, equipment, and safety systems, and carry out statutory and classification surveys on behalf of governmental authorities. Can you produce precise, well-structured reports and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues? Are you comfortable traveling frequently and working in shipyards, onboard vessels, and in challenging environments?

If you hold a degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, possess 5 to 7 years of experience as an IACS class surveyor, and are fluent in English, this position could be the next step in your career. Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, Load Line conventions, and IMO codes will be essential, as will the ability to work independently, manage schedules, and maintain a professional client-focused approach.

If you are authorized to work in Canada, hold a valid driving license, and want to contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in the maritime industry, we would like to hear from you.
