The Role
We are seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent with a strong background in chemical tankers to join a leading ship management company in Amsterdam. This is a shorebased position where you will ensure vessels remain fully compliant, safe and always ready for operations, audits and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day marine operations and performance of assigned vessels
- Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, ISM Code and international regulations
- Prepare vessels for vetting, port state and flag state inspections
- Support and guide masters and senior officers on operational and safety matters
- Drive a strong safety culture across the fleet, including inspections, audits and training
- Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Monitor and review vessel documentation including Q88, CDI and HVPQ
- Act as first point of contact for marine-related issues and emergencies
- Chief Mate or Master Mariner CoC (STCW Reg II/2 Unlimited)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience on chemical tankers at senior rank
- At least 1 year of shorebased experience as Marine/Vetting Superintendent in chemical tankers
- Strong knowledge of international regulations, vetting and inspection processes
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to operational challenges
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
