The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent with a Chief Engineer background on chemical tankers to join a leading ship management company in Amsterdam. This is a shorebased role providing technical support and leadership to ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with class, flag and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and guidance to assigned vessels
- Plan and monitor surveys, dry-docks and major repairs
- Ensure compliance with class, flag and statutory requirements
- Oversee PMS and ensure maintenance schedules are followed
- Monitor vessel performance, energy efficiency and equipment condition
- Control OPEX budgets and approve technical purchases
- Review and evaluate repair quotations and schedules
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Promote and maintain safety and environmental standards onboard
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits
- Marine Chief Engineer CoC (STCW III/2 >3000KW)
- Minimum 2 years’ sea service as Chief Engineer on chemical tankers
- At least 1 year of shorebased experience as Technical Superintendent (or similar)
- Strong knowledge of PMS, dry-docking, repairs and technical management
- Ability to manage budgets and control operating costs
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
