We are working with a specialist marine insurance brokerage to support the expansion of their team following a period of sustained growth, alongside some recent structural changes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative, international organisation with a flat structure and a genuine team-first approach.
About the Role:
This is a senior-level opportunity suited to an experienced Marine Account Handler with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. You will work closely with a team of brokers, technicians, and account handlers to deliver seamless support across a portfolio of established key accounts, particularly within the Hull & Machinery and War Risks markets.

It’s a tight-knit team, where everyone supports each other and shares responsibility. You’ll be part of a technically strong and diverse workforce that values collaboration over hierarchy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and service a portfolio of key marine insurance accounts
- Work closely with brokers to ensure smooth client servicing and policy administration
- Take ownership of more complex accounts while supporting junior staff
- Mentor and guide less experienced account handlers and technicians
- Provide technical input across Hull & Machinery, War Risks where applicable
- Muck in and assist the wider team during peak periods or when resource is tight
- Liaise with underwriters, clients, and internal teams to resolve issues swiftly and professionally
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in marine insurance, ideally in an account handling role
- Strong technical knowledge of Hull & Machinery and War insurance
- A team player with a collaborative mindset, someone who is happy to get stuck in
- Previous experience mentoring junior staff is highly desirable
- Italian language skills are an advantage but not essential, lessons are available in-house
- Candidates must be comfortable working 4 days per week in the London office
