This role focuses on the assurance, governance and development of structural frameworks for submarine platforms, working closely with defence clients, shipyards and regulators on highly complex, safety-critical programmes.
The Role
- Lead and maintain structural assurance frameworks and guidance for submarines
- Act as a technical authority on pressure hull design, fatigue, corrosion, extreme loading and watertight integrity
- Support classification, advisory and service delivery teams on submarine projects
- Engage with defence stakeholders, shipbuilders and regulatory bodies
- Represent the organisation in international technical committees and standards forums
- Mentor engineers and support capability development within the naval team
- Degree qualified in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering or similar
- Extensive experience in submarine structural design and/or assessment
- Strong understanding of classification rules, naval standards and structural mechanics
- Proficient with structural analysis / FEA tools
- Comfortable operating in senior, client-facing technical roles
