Our client, a growing offshore and marine engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Engineer, specialising in Naval Architecture to provide hands-on technical leadership and assurance across complex, high-risk projects.

This is a senior technical role for someone who thrives on solving tough engineering challenges, mentoring others and ensuring everything delivered is safe, compliant and fit for purpose.


What You’ll Do:
  • Act as technical authority on projects, setting and maintaining engineering standards.
  • Review and approve structural, lifting and marine analyses, method statements and procedures.
  • Identify and manage technical and operational risk across project lifecycles.
  • Support bids, planning, and live operations with practical, responsive engineering input.
  • Deliver and defend high-quality work to clients and marine warranty surveyors.
  • Mentor engineers, raising capability and ensuring consistent technical quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering methods, standards, and execution.
  • Represent engineering credibility in client and third-party discussions.


What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Naval Architecture or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 6 years of experience in marine or offshore engineering delivery.
  • Proven hands-on experience with ANSYS (or equivalent FEA) and OrcaFlex.
  • Strong grasp of structural design, stability, motions and marine operations.
  • Experience delivering transport, sea fastening, lifting and marine execution engineering.
  • Ability to identify risk early and apply sound engineering judgement under pressure.
  • Confident communicator who can justify design decisions and assure safety and compliance.
  • Proven mentoring experience and a passion for technical development.
  • Full UK driving licence.


Nice to Have:

  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards it).
  • Experience in heavy lift, cable installation or marine warranty surveys.
  • Offshore or international project exposure.
