We have a new opportunity for an HSEQ Superintendent to join a leading ship management organisation based in Glasgow. 

Reporting to: Senior HSEQ / Fleet Management Team.
Location: Clydebank (with occasional travel as required).

Overview:
As an HSEQ Superintendent, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality standards across a managed fleet. The role involves providing professional HSEQ guidance to vessels and fleet teams, ensuring compliance with international regulations and company management systems, while driving a strong safety culture both onboard and ashore.

Required skill set and experience:

  • HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Deck or Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency (Class II)

  • Previous seagoing experience as a Senior Deck Officer or Senior Marine Engineer

  • IRCA Lead Auditor qualification

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Diploma in Safety Management

  • Experience working in an HSEQ or compliance role within the maritime or shipping industry

  • Strong knowledge of ISM Code, ISO standards and TMSA requirements

  • Experience conducting internal and external audits and supporting certification activities

  • Experience investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions

  • Ability to analyse safety data and produce performance reports for management

  • Experience supporting or delivering health and safety training and inductions

  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with vessel crews, senior officers and shore-based teams

  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team

Office attendance:
