As they continue to expand their operations, we are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Technical Management to join the team is Oslo. The successful candidate must have excellent people management and leadership skills, as well as a proven track record of continuous improvement. You will oversee and manage the appointed Ship Management company’s on all technical matters and other technical specialists including the development and implementation of technical projects, including upgrades and new builds.
Responsibilities:
- Manage third-party technical management, including relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), budgets, and the interests of owners.
- Monitor and oversee technical-related matters such as CII, EEXI, dry docking, potential retrofits, potential newbuilding projects, service agreements, procurement, and regulations.
- Address and follow up on owners' interests regarding insurance, class, and flag state requirements.
- Utilize your experience in technical management, seagoing, and yard operations, particularly in newbuild and dry-docking projects.
- Apply your extensive knowledge in engineering or naval architecture, with a strong understanding of ship and engine technicalities.
- Leverage your minimum of 15 years of industry experience to make informed decisions and provide valuable insights.
- Demonstrate a hands-on technical and commercial mindset, leveraging a well-established network within the maritime industry to drive success.
- Take a proactive and solution-oriented approach, analysing challenges and implementing effective strategies.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, while proficiency in a Scandinavian language is preferable.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or naval architecture, with a focus on ship technical knowledge as a prerequisite.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in technical management, seagoing, or yard operations.
- Strong technical and commercial mindset, with a well-established network within the maritime industry.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach, coupled with excellent analytical skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral. Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
- Basic digital competence and ability to adapt to new tools and software.
