Location: Spain
I’m partnering exclusively with a short‑sea RoRo operator to appoint a Head of Operations. This is a senior, hands‑on shore‑based role with full responsibility for the operational performance of the service. The position acts as the single point of operational authority ashore, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑controlled operations through strong port relationships, close vessel coordination, and decisive real‑time disruption management.
The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day reliability, punctuality, and turnaround performance, while maintaining continuous operational readiness across all sailings. They will manage the full port interface, resolve operational issues quickly, and work closely with Masters and Chief Officers to ensure sailing readiness and compliance. The role also carries responsibility for cargo planning discipline, DG/IMDG governance, SOP implementation, and cost control across port and terminal activities.
