Location: Freeport, Grand Bahamas
Focus: Structural steel & outfitting fabrication across ship repair and conversion projects

The Company

I am partnering with Grand Bahama Shipyard as they continue a major phase of operational expansion.

The yard has recently put into operation a new floating dock, significantly increasing repair capacity and project flow. With the imminent arrival of its Lucayan dock in May 2026, the shipyard will operate the world’s largest floating dock capable of servicing and repairing the largest cruise ships in operation and under construction, as well as the global commercial fleet.

The yard is expanding dock capacity and investing in fabrication capability to meet growing demand for high value cruise and conversion work

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Fabrication to lead all structural steel and outfitting activities across multiple dock dependent projects. This hands on operational leadership role reports to VP Operations and includes responsibility for planning, scheduling and resource allocation across the fabrication department.

You will manage core and subcontract labour teams, productivity and departmental budget, ensure safe execution of all work to required standards on time and within budget, and drive process and capability improvements while mentoring supervisors and foremen

About You

You will have a strong track record in structural steel and outfitting fabrication within ship repair or conversion yards. You will have a minimum of 15 years experience in fabrication with at least five years in a senior management role.

You will have experience managing large teams of 100 to 250 personnel and departmental budgets. You will have hands on technical knowledge in steel and aluminium fabrication including IACS compliance and you will be comfortable operating in a commercially driven, high pressure dock environment

This is a rare opportunity to join a yard at the forefront of Caribbean ship repair and cruise vessel conversion
