This role will focus on developing and executing freight trading strategies, managing time charter exposure, and identifying profitable opportunities across the dry bulk market. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and play an active role in the commercial decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute freight trading strategies across the dry bulk market
- Manage and optimise time charter (TC) exposure and vessel positions
- Analyse freight market trends, cargo flows, and arbitrage opportunities
- Negotiate charter parties with owners, operators, and brokers
- Build and maintain relationships with market participants including charterers and shipbrokers
- Work closely with the senior commercial leadership to support trading decisions
- 5–10 years’ experience within dry bulk shipping, freight trading, or chartering
- Strong exposure to time charter (TC) trading or chartering strategies
- Shipbrokers with strong commercial exposure who are keen to transition to the principal side are encouraged to apply
- Proactive, commercially minded, and inquisitive approach to the freight markets
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently under senior guidance
