Role Overview
As a Shipbroker in the Santiago office, you will be responsible for brokering dry bulk cargoes and vessels, cultivating long-term client relationships, and contributing to the company’s commercial success across global markets. The role offers exposure to high-volume fixtures in a vibrant regional hub, supported by a 24/7 international network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure chartering opportunities across dry bulk segments (Handysize, Supramax/Ultramax, Panamax/Kamsarmax).
  • Negotiate freight contracts, rates, and terms between shipowners, charterers, and operators.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in South America and globally, providing proactive market insight and commercial advisory support.
  • Track market trends, freight rates, and commodity flows to inform brokerage strategy and risk management.
  • Work closely with internal teams (operations, finance, research) to ensure smooth execution of fixtures and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute to regional business development and the growth of our client’s portfolio.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in shipbroking, chartering, or freight forwarding—preferably within dry bulk.
  • Strong commercial mindset and proven negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in English and Spanish is essential (Portuguese is an advantage).
  • Ambitious, hardworking, and able to succeed in a high‑pressure, target-driven environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and chartering platforms such as Veson; familiarity with market data tools is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel within the region and work flexible hours to align with global time zones.
