The Role: As their Director of Compensation, you will helm a team responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of both shipboard and shoreside compensation programs. This role includes:
  • Developing salary structures and incentive plans.
  • Conducting benchmark studies and job evaluations.
  • Consulting with leadership on sound compensation principles and practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with wage and hour legal requirements across land and maritime domains.
  • Leading diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within all aspects of compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of compensation experts to design and implement strategies for shoreside and fleet employees.
  • Partner with executive management to develop and administer multifaceted compensation programs.
  • Establish and communicate a clear compensation philosophy aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the People Team and financial staff to ensure compliance with regulations and conduct ongoing audits.
  • Maintain competitive and equitable job evaluations and classifications.
  • Drive the year-end pay administration process, including budget analysis and methodology.
  • Participate in annual planning and build a compensation strategy that combines internal data, stakeholder feedback, and external market trends.
  • Work with global salary survey vendors and develop internal market pricing tools.
What they're Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years leading a compensation function, with experience in fleet compensation within a global organization.
  • 7 years of experience in designing and evolving global compensation programs.
  • Certification in SPHR, CCP, or similar professional designations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive cultural change.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation practices and theory, with a strong background in program design and project management.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building collaborative partnerships.
