Reporting to: Head of HSSE
The role:
The Contractor Assurance and Regulatory Standards Manager will oversee how contractors work across our UK and European Ports and Ferries operations.
You will make sure all contractors operate safely, legally, and in line with company standards. This role provides confidence to senior leaders that contracted work is well managed, compliant, and consistent across the business.
What you will be doing:
- Overseeing contractor assurance processes across multiple sites
- Ensuring contractors are correctly approved, onboarded, and monitored
- Carrying out audits, inspections, and checks on contractor activities
- Making sure contractor work meets legal, HSSE, ISO, and fleet requirements
- Supporting sites and projects with guidance and training on contractor standards
- Reviewing contractor performance, identifying risks, and driving improvements
- Supporting investigations into contractor related incidents
- Working with internal teams, regulators, and auditors as required
- Experience in an HSSE, safety, or compliance role
- Strong knowledge of UK and European health and safety legislation
- Proven experience managing contractors, ideally in ports, marine, logistics, or other high risk environments
- Confident communicator who can influence and work across multiple sites
- Relevant HSSE qualification (Level 3 or similar)
- Marine or port experience would be an advantage
