Job Title: Chartering & Freight Trader
Location: Singapore

Job Overview:
One of the largest Tanker Owner / Operators Globally are looking to hire a Charterer & Freight Trader to join their team in Singapore.
As a Chartering & Freight Trading Specialist, you will play a crucial role in executing trading strategies, monitoring market trends, and developing customer relationships to maintain our position as a preferred partner in the tanker market. This role requires a keen understanding of market dynamics, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor tanker market trends by engaging with Owners, Customers, and Brokers.
  • Identify and recommend strategic opportunities and adjustments.
  • Implement and execute the trading strategy effectively.
  • Handle negotiations and execution of commercial out charters and short-term in charters.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain contracts that align with our commercial strategies.
  • Manage contract administration and deliver periodic reports.
  • Analyze internal voyage-related and trading data to promote best practices and continual improvement.
  • Actively develop and enhance customer relationships by understanding their needs, anticipating future needs, and delivering on commitments to secure a preferred status.
  • Provide support in the development and management of regional customer strategies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a strong, unified team.
  • Utilize systems effectively to uphold best practices and ensure all activities meet our high standards.
Requirements:
  • Proficient understanding of supply and demand factors affecting the market.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FFA market.
  • Strong grasp of trading tools and risk management practices.
  • Innovative and creative approach to trading solutions.
  • High-level negotiation skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vessel operations, tanker port facilities, and relevant contractual terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in both team environments and independent settings.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaborative skills.
  • Motivated, engaging, and maintains high ethical standards.
  • Results-driven focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
