We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cargo Superintendent to focus on the maintenance and support of cargo handling equipment, with a strong emphasis on MacGregor cargo cranes and conveyors.
Position Overview:
As a Cargo Superintendent for our esteemed client, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and operational efficiency of cargo handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of MacGregor cargo cranes and conveyors, coupled with a strong commitment to equipment maintenance, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the maintenance and repair activities of cargo handling equipment, with a primary focus on MacGregor cargo cranes and conveyors.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, plans, and procedures to ensure the continuous operational readiness of cargo handling equipment.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers, service providers, and technical experts to address complex maintenance and repair challenges.
- Monitor equipment performance and diagnose issues to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repair work, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices in equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a similar role within the bulk carrier shipping industry, with a strong focus on cargo handling equipment maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of MacGregor cargo cranes and conveyors operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong commitment to safety, with a proven track record of incident-free cargo equipment operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- The existing right to live and work in Italy is a MUST to be considered for this role.
