​When hiring technical and compliance-critical roles, trust and verification go hand in hand. Our client needed to onboard key personnel across multiple global locations, but with a strict ISO 9000-aligned hiring process, no hire could proceed without robust due diligence. They turned to Faststream to manage and deliver a consistent, compliant, and timely background check service across Singapore, India, and the UK.

The Challenge

Our client was scaling their Marine Quality Assurance team and needed confidence that all hires met internal and external standards. With multiple stakeholders across Human Resources and Marine Management, and hires being made in several countries, the challenge was to create a streamlined, high-trust process that wouldn’t slow down recruitment.

Every candidate needed to be verified across criminal history, identity, employment, education, and professional qualifications before an offer could be finalised.

The Solution

​Faststream implemented a comprehensive global background check solution tailored to the client’s requirements. This included:

  • Enhanced criminal record checks

  • Global ID, sanctions, and enforcement screening

  • Education and employment verification

  • Professional qualification and driving record checks where required

The process was managed centrally by our experienced team, providing a single point of contact for updates, clarifications, and results. We ensured consistency in quality and speed across all three jurisdictions, while keeping the client informed and in control.

​The Results

The project was a complete success. All the required 18 hires were made using the required checks, with no delays to onboarding or start dates. Our client was able to uphold its ISO 9000 recruitment standards without adding internal workload or complexity.
