Tramp & Operations Manager – Marseille, France
Salary: €80,000–120,000 + 10–15% annual bonus | Company car provided

Are you a seasoned maritime professional with a proven track record in tramp shipping operations? An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Tramp & Operations Manager based in Marseille, overseeing port agency operations across France.

This is a senior management role for someone with 8+ years’ experience in shipping operations, combining both operational and commercial responsibilities. You will lead local teams, ensure excellence in service delivery, and contribute to business growth.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and optimise port agency operations across key French ports, primarily focusing on tramp activities while supporting liner operations.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching local teams, and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and port authorities, ensuring exceptional service and operational compliance.
  • Contribute to business development and client retention, leveraging existing contacts where possible.
  • Report to and support the Country Manager, maintaining strategic alignment and operational performance.
What we’re looking for:
  • 8–10 years in shipping, with strong experience in tramp operations and managing multiple teams or offices.
  • Fluency in French and English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Proven operational management skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Willingness to be based in Marseille and travel frequently to other French ports.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • High proficiency with IT tools (Office 365, Teams, TMS/ERP systems).
