Training Superintendent | Indonesia (Jakarta)
An established international maritime organisation is strengthening its training and development capability to support crew performance, safety, and long-term talent development. This role, open to local Indonesian, offers experienced seafarers the opportunity to transition ashore into a hands-on training leadership position, combining shore-based responsibilities with regular vessel visits.
You will be responsible for delivering and managing maritime training programmes, conducting vessel visits to support crew development and compliance, and mentoring cadets and trainees throughout their sea assignments. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help ensure seafarers are technically prepared, safety-focused, and ready for assignment.
Key Requirements
- Sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Master Mariner, and working experience with seagoing ships - bulk carriers, container ships, tanker vessels, etc.
- Exposure to training, mentoring, or crew development onboard
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging both ashore and onboard
- Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is an advantage
- Shore-based training superintendent or senior sailing engineer/deck officer background
